An initiative of Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, the worlds largest human chain witnessed participation from various political leaders from different parties.Prominent people who were part of the human chain included Lalu Prasad Yadav, state Legislative Assembly Speaker Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, Legislative Council Chairman Awdesh https://www.religious-rosary.com/ Narayan Singh, Deputy Chief Minister Tejaswi Yadav, state Congress President and Minister Ashok Choudhary, and NCP General Secretary and MP Tariq Anwar.
The importance of communal harmony was also highlighted during the event, as children came dressed in traditional clothes from various religions such as Hindu, Muslim, Sikh, and Christians..Estimated to cover around 11,292 km, Bihars human chain has broken the previous record of 1050 km, which was formed in 2004 in Bangladesh. Top BJP leaders Sushil Kumar Modi, Union minister of state Ramkripal Yadav, Leader of Opposition in Bihar Assembly Prem Kumar, party national spokesman Shahnawaz Hussain and party MP from Maharajganj Janardan Singh Sigriwal joined hands with citizens in Siwan, as part of the human chain.
Members of the opposition were also part of the human chain.A human chain was also formed in the shape of a map of Bihar in Gandhi Maidan. Around two crore citizens took part in Bihars human chain. The state has witnessed immense support for liquor ban, which includes the ban on both local and Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL). Inside the map, a liquor bottle shape with a cross sign over it was also formed.
